The flight was due to arrive tomorrow morning, but we found out early this morning that there has been a delay of more than 9 hours. So we will hopefully be greeting her tomorrow evening. We can't wait! Plus that gives me extra time to clean and worry! We have prayed for this visit and for these children and it will be so nice to finally meet them in person!
Follow us on a journey through a Summer of Solace. We are hosting a child from Afghanistan this summer through an organization called Solace for the Children. Our Afghan daughter, Fatima, will live with us for six weeks beginning on June 1st. She is traveling to Jacksonville along with 17 other children and 3 interpreters. She will receive medical exams and minor treatment during her stay and most importantly she will get to enjoy a fun, safe time with our family.

Preparing for Fatima
The bedroom is clean, the third bed has been added to the girls' room, and the collection of clothing has grown as we anxiously prepare for Fatima's arrival. Last night Grace and Rebekah created posters to welcome Fatima at the airport. They each made two so I guess we can all hold one! A.J., one of the interpreters, was there at the poster making party and helped everyone with writing the names in Persian. It's amazing how different it is from English. It is read from right to left.
